:What_is_this?
This is a simple, DOS-based, hypertext document
that serves as an intermediate-level tutorial
on logic design using the EPX780 FPGA as a
prototyping device.
:How_do_I_use_this?
Basically, you use the cursor control keys, PgUp
and PgDn keys, or the mouse and scroll bars to move
through the text. If you see a word you don't
understand, put the text cursor on it and hit the
ENTER key OR click on it with your mouse cursor and
you will transfer to the place in the text where
the term is explained. You can return to where you
were by hitting the BACKSPACE key.
The words or phrases ~highlighted like this~ are the
best candidates for getting further information,
but you can try clicking on anything you see. If
you click on something like ~<epxbrd.pcx>~, then a
viewer for the PCX picture will take over the entire
screen. To return to the hypertext document, just
click the mouse or hit any key on the keyboard
(except for the ENTER key).
Some explanatory text will appear in separate
windows. You can drag these windows around and
resize them with the mouse.
Other than that, you can try anything you see in
the menus and see what happens!
:Future_Hypertext_Documents
This is just one of a series of hypertext documents
that XESS Corp. will be releasing over the Internet
as a companion to our ~FPGA_Workout~. The complete
series is shown below. Any headings with a **
beside them have already been released.

:Where_do_I_find_these_documents?
These documents will be kept on the FTP server
`~ftp.vnet.net~` under the directory `~pub/xess/hyperdoc~`.
You can login to this machine as `~anonymous~` to
retrieve the documents. Each document will be
stored as a self-extracting archive. Merely download
it into an empty directory on a DOS PC and execute
it and the document will install itself. Then type
~`GO`~ to view the document.
:Please_keep_me_informed!
If you would like to be informed when new documents
are released on the Internet, just send a message
with the subject line of `~hypertext~` to `~devb@vnet.net~`
and we will add you to our subscription list.
